Medical repatriation airport transfers, without the guesswork.

A confirmed chauffeur for the road legs of a repatriation flight. Hospital, hotel or home to the terminal, then terminal to home, for medically stable travellers and their escorts.

✓Driver confirmed in advance, never a spinning ETA
✓Flight tracked, with extra time for customs and baggage
✓Meet and greet at the terminal, bags first, then doors
✓Itemised GST tax invoice to whoever books

We supply the car and the chauffeur, not medical care. Travellers who need to lie flat, need oxygen or monitoring, or need to stay in their wheelchair need a road ambulance or an accessible vehicle.

Check the fit first

A chauffeur suits stable travellers. Some trips need an ambulance.

The deciding question is simple. Can the traveller sit in a normal car seat for the whole drive, without clinical care? If yes, a pre-booked chauffeur is a practical, calm way home.

AT247 is a good fit

Book a chauffeur for

  • ✓Travellers recovering from a fracture or minor surgery who can walk short distances or move from a wheelchair to a car seat
  • ✓Patients discharged to fly home on a scheduled airline with a nurse or paramedic escort
  • ✓Interstate patients heading home after specialist treatment
  • ✓Family members travelling between the airport, the hospital and home
Book something else

Arrange a road ambulance or accessible vehicle if the traveller

  • ✕Must lie flat or travel on a stretcher
  • ✕Needs oxygen, monitoring or clinical care during the drive
  • ✕Needs to stay seated in their wheelchair. That calls for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

Not sure? The treating doctor or the assistance company's medical team makes the call. We're happy to work alongside them.

Options compared

Four ways to get between the terminal and the bedside.

The cheapest option isn't always the kindest one. Taxi queues and a long walk to the rideshare zone are hard going for someone still recovering.

FAQ

Medical repatriation transfer questions.

What are medical repatriation airport transfers?

They are the road trips at each end of a repatriation flight: hospital, hotel or home to the departure terminal, and the arrival terminal to the final destination. For medically stable travellers who can sit in a normal car seat, a pre-booked chauffeur covers these legs.

Do you provide medical escorts, stretchers or ambulances?

No. AT247 supplies the car and a professional chauffeur. Our drivers are not medical staff and our vehicles carry no medical equipment. If the traveller needs to lie flat, needs oxygen or monitoring, or needs clinical care during the drive, book a road ambulance.

Can you collect a traveller from hospital?

Yes, for medically stable travellers. Give us the exact entrance or discharge area and the expected discharge time when you book.

Can an insurer, assistance company or escort provider book for the traveller?

Yes. Book on the traveller's behalf with their name, mobile, flight number and driver notes. The itemised GST tax invoice goes to the billing contact you nominate.

What happens if the flight is delayed?

Every trip is flight tracked, so the pickup moves to the actual landing time. International arrivals get extra time for customs and baggage.

How much does a repatriation airport transfer cost?

Rates depend on the vehicle and the destination. Use the instant quote for your route. Tolls and airport parking are added after the trip at actual cost, with no markup, and itemised on the tax invoice.
